PHILADELPHIA, PA – November 1, 2016 – Dealerscope, the consumer technology industry’s news and information source, has inaugurated a new annual industry recognition program, Powerful Women in Consumer Technology (PWCT). The program, which was open for voting by industry members, is designed to recognize the game-changing, top-tier women in the consumer technology sector who are effective, mentoring, natural leaders among their peers and among those who work for them.

“Every woman in this male-dominated industry of ours has a unique story to tell,” Nancy Klosek, Dealerscope’s editor in chief, said. “We wanted to tell you about some of the most successful – and to let them tell you a little about themselves.”

Women in the categories of retailing, manufacturing, and other areas such as service, distribution, and industry organizations are being recognized for their outstanding achievements, exceptional leadership and promotion of innovation in the consumer technology industry.

A sampling of the honorees who are being recognized for the 2016 awards hail from a host of manufacturers, distributors and industry organizations, including the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), CEDIA, The Digital Entertainment Group (DEG), LG Electronics, TCL, Samsung, Petra Industries, Ingram Micro, D&H Distributing, New Age Electronics, and more. The retail sector is represented by executives at World Wide Stereo, Mrs. G’s, InMotion Entertainment, and more.

“It’s long overdue that the women who have propelled their company and our industry forward and have served as inspirations and mentors to those around them were honored properly,” added Benjamin Felix, president and CRO for NAPCO Media, Consumer Technology.

The program is the centerpiece of Dealerscope’s November print issue and will be shared online at www.dealerscope.com and in Dealerscope Today, the publication’s daily newsletter.
